What do you think about Ultimate Reality?

2 comments:

  1. As has been recognized, utimate reality is one and the same as the so-called mystical state. The mystical experience is the onset of this, until now, phenomenon. It can now be explained WHY this previously mystical event occurs. Knowing why a mystical experience occurs will provide incentive for each and every individual to seek ultimate reality. The way to reach that higher state of mind is now also known. It is through the analysis of familiar, obvious and known things, and things we have taken for granted. Is there support for looking inward at familiar and known things and things we take for granted? A number of prominent names support this concept. Whitehead said, "Familiar things happen and mankind does not bother about them." Hegel gave us these words: "Because its familiar, a thing remains unknown. The psychologist Ichheiser said, "Nothing evades our attention as persistently as that which is taken for granted. The gift of mystical insight is a sudden realization that, in time, makes us know ultimate reality.

  2. Emmanuel,
Not sure what all you mean by what you wrote above. I think that ultimate reality is found in the personal God that has revealed Himself to us in Creation, conscience, and more specifically the writings that we commonly call the Bible. Here are some good resources for a Christian response to the idea of Christian Mysticism.
